Pitlochry Choral (Pitlochry & District Choral Society) is an amateur choir of 50+members based in Pitlochry, Highland Perthshire, now seeking a new Music Director to start September 2018, to replace the current MD who is relocating.
As a Charity (SC0 40555) we aim to bring music appreciation & enjoyment to our members & to our Community. We particularly aim to reach out to the old, young, and disadvantaged, and we also support other hard-pressed charitable causes.
We rehearse weekly, September-April, to perform two major concerts each December & April, as well as at other events. Our recent repertoire ranges from classical choral works old & new, to madrigals, and favourite arias and choruses from operas and musicals.
We seek candidates who have: Experience & empathy with traditional & mainstream choral music; Experience & skills in conducting adult choirs, musicians & soloists; Experience in composing & arranging music; Piano/keyboard skills a bonus.
