Musical Director
London & South East
Organisation: The Noteables
ABOUT US
The Noteables are an acapella choir of eighteen, full of enthusiasm, BIG personalities and the occasional body roll.
We've been together for 12 years, so we are a close gang. People emigrate to Australia, or leave to have NoteABabies but they always come back, such is the power of the Noteables.
We are funny people, this is evident in rehearsals and we love it to be a part of our performances. Our audiences know they'll always get a laugh (for the right reasons!) as well as be dazzled by our close harmony magic. Ahem.
We are great at sourcing and arranging a wide variety of material, predominately pop but with a healthy dose of Disney in there too.
We love performing and aside from our annual end of year gig are always up for rocking up and singing a few numbers wherever and whenever we can.
We are set up as a up as a Community Interest Company and split out the jobs that need doing between us all but are open to looking at this, as it's a whole new world* for us all.
We meet every Monday evening, 7 - 9pm in Theatre Deli, in the City.
ABOUT YOU:
We are looking for someone who can:
- Teach us the music, blah blah blah, that's a given
- Embrace the nonsense
- Get the pace right, we are a mixed group
- Bring suggestions for music but don't get offended if we veto it!
- Accept that we all have busy lives, you won't always get a full house every week
- Focus on performance and staging
- Lead auditions for new members but we'll always have a say in the personality match
- Create audio files for each part as we perform off book and use these to practise (we call these files "bing bongs", obviously)
- Play percussion at gigs sometimes - cajon or similar
- You must like dogs, there are lots and lots of NoteADogs
- Our current MD finishes at the end of October and we will be auditioning over the autumn with a view to you starting in the new year.
Please get in touch if you've any questions. info@thenoteables.co.uk.
