I am urgently seeking a Choir Director to deputise for me, ideally on Wednesday afternoons (3.30-5.00pm) from mid-January (or as soon as possible after that), provisionally to Easter 2025.
The mixed choir of c.25 members sings popular songs from 20s-40s, show-tunes, folk songs & occasional classical pieces (eg. Panis Angelicus) in unison & simple 2/3-part harmony.
The emphasis is on inclusivity and relaxed enjoyment. There are a few experienced choral singers who, given their age & possible health issues, are now keen to just take things easy, whilst others have never sung in a choir before. So the harmony singing is just for variety - we don't worry if some can't find their notes and accidentally veer towards the tune!
I'm prepared to provide resources (sheet music/words/arrangements, backing tracks/piano parts or chord sheets) but you'd be welcome to add ideas of your own.
