We are looking to appoint a Chorus Master and Repetiteur from late summer/ autumn this year ( 2025). We are based in Lewes East Sussex where rehearsals are mostly held on Sunday afternoons.
We need the Chorus Master to rehearse the music with the Chorus who are keen amateur singers with varying levels of musicianship. For a fully staged production the chorus needs to memorise the music in time to start the production rehearsals, although there will inevitably be some overlap, and revision required once production is under way. We have a conductor who will normally conduct the staged public performances, though for the right candidate there may be opportunities to do this from time to time. The Chorus Master would be in charge of semi staged and concert performances which we also undertake. There would also be an opportunity for them to be involved in the choice of repertoire for these in consultation with the artistic director and the committee.
