The Major Oak Barbershop Chorus are urgently seeking to appoint a new Director of Music
to help improve and grow the chorus.

The Major Oak Chorus, or the Oakies as we are affectionately known, is a male four part
acapella chorus singing mainly in the Barbershop style. Currently we have approximately 25
active members. We are proud members of the British Association of Barbershop Singers
(BABS) and the Making Music Organisation.

Members of the Chorus regularly sing locally at public and private events and in shows to
support charitable events. We also regularly participate in the BABS annual convention.
We meet every Tuesday evening for rehearsal between 7.15pm and 9.15pm at the Carlton
Junior Academy. Our rehearsals are open to anyone and are free to attend.
