As a choral conductor, you can’t make it on your own. To do your best work you need to meet others, exchange ideas, listen and learn. In the UK there is no better forum for doing this than abcd, and I encourage every choral conductor, whether relative novice or experienced professional, to join and reap the benefit. abcd offers something for everyone. I’ve never attended an abcd event and not come away enriched and inspired.

Our members are at the heart of an amazing network, where composers, conductors, performers, teachers, singers and publishers from every part of the choral world meet, representing 2,000 choral groups of all kinds. Whatever your experience, abcd can support your journey as a choir leader.
Who can join?
Anyone and everyone involved in leading singers, whether you’ve just been persuaded to take over your school choir and don’t know where to start, you conduct a church choir, a cathedral choir, a chamber choir, a choral society or a community choir – or all of those.

We’re committed to supporting the next generation and our Student and Young Conductor memberships remain the same: all the benefits of membership for just £13 if you’re under 25, and £40 if you’re aged 25 to 28.
We also offer joint membership for any two people living at the same address.

What does it cost?
Individual membership is £86 a year, or just £7.50 per month. If you’re under 28, rates start at just £13 per year. We also offer business membership options for music organisations and businesses of any kind, large and small, starting at £173. You can join online, or choose annual or monthly Direct Debit options, or we can raise an invoice for you or your choir, school or business.
Making Music discount
Current Making Music members can claim 25% discount off the first year of abcd membership for their musical director, or their assistant musical director if the MD is already an abcd member. Find out more here.
