Musical Director: Spelthorne Choral Society
Spelthorne Choral Society, based in Staines-upon-Thames, is the foremost choir in the borough of Spelthorne. Founded in 1920 and originally named Ashford Choral Society, we have welcomed members from Staines, Ashford, and beyond for over a century. Currently formed of fifty singers, Spelthorne Choral Society are an enthusiastic and friendly group of people who love singing. We are a mixed ability, non-auditioned choir with some support from bursary members.
The choir performs three/four concerts per season during the period of September to early-July. The choir performs major choral works, as well as lesser-known works, to the highest standards, often alongside professional soloists with a variety of piano, organ, brass and orchestral accompaniment.
Our Musical Director is sadly leaving us after 12 very successful and happy years and we are inviting applications for a new MD to start in January 2027 (or a date to be agreed).
We are seeking an inspiring and talented Musical Director with a great sense of fun to lead our choir forward. You will work alongside our Accompanist and with the support of the choir committee. This is a paid role and the successful candidate will be advised of the fee after interview.
We meet at: Our Lady of the Rosary School Park Avenue, Staines upon Thames, TW18 2EF Mondays at 7.30pm.
