Choirs from across the country will join together in rehearsing and performing a brand new piece of music for Holy Week in collaboration with BBC Radio 4.
The People's Passion, a collaboration between Radio 4, BBC Religion, Radio Drama and BBC Local Radio, is to be broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in Holy Week 2012 and looks at modern life in cathedrals across the land in five new dramas, documentaries and specially commissioned choral music.
As part of The People's Passion, the BBC has commissioned a brand new choral work from Sasha Johnson Manning with lyrics by the poet Michael Symmons Roberts which will be performed by choirs across the country at Easter. Choirs of all kinds are invited to get involved and the sheetmusic and a performance of the piece, along with further details about the project are on the Radio 4 website.
