The sixth Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival takes place from 2 - 6 May.
60 choirs will take part in 50 events at 40 locations (during five days and over 1400 square miles), bringing almost £1m into the local economy during the Festival.
The festival includes four international gala concerts, 21 regional gala concerts as well as Europe's largest male choir competition - a great sing-off where 24 choirs from across the world will vie for prize money, cups, certificates - and kudos. Among the competitors will be boys' choirs from St Petersburg and The Czech Republic, a French choir of Polish miner descent and the South Wales Gay Men's Chorus as well as some formidable home grown UK talent.
Twenty five concerts will take place during the Festival. Choirs will sing in a wide variety of tourist attractions including Eden; Cornwall Boys and Cambiata choirs, travelling on buses from both ends of the County, will sing with male choirs in towns and local festivals in the County, before converging on and singing on Truro Piazza. Then they will then entertain the audience in the Hall for Cornwall while the jury in the international singing competitions reach their verdicts.
