As part of the City of London Festival, a one-day conference is being held to explore how singing can change lives. There is now a strong body of evidence to show the very real benefits of singing for a wide range of health conditions, from asthma to Alzheimer's. Researchers, practitioners, healthcare professionals and choral participants will all be present for this special conference on 4 July from 10am - 4pm at the Gresham Centre, St Anne & St Agnes, Gresham Street, London, and they are keen to encourage conductors to attend too. See the full timetable for the day by clicking here.
Speakers include the Rt Hon Lord Howarth of Newport, founder and Co-Chair of the All Party Parliamentary Group for the Arts, Health and Wellbeing. Music Therapist Phoene Cave and Catherine Pestano (UK Ambassador for Singing Hospitals).
