UK conductors and singers are being asked to vote for their favourite songs for inclusion in a new European songbook.
The European Union Songbook Organisation is creating the first songbook for the people of the EU (including the UK!). It is a non-profit pioneer-project launched in Denmark.
Six songs from the UK will be included; a long-list of 34 songs in six categories has already been chosen in six categories - love, nature, freedom & peace, folk songs, faith and children's songs - by students at Birmingham Conservatoire, the Royal College of Music and the Royal Academy of Music. The songs include music from the Renaissance to the present day. Over 13,000 people across Europe have already voted.
Voting is open until 30th August - click here to find out more and vote!
