Hal Leonard Europe has become the third organisation to sign up to abcd's Gold Commercial status. This new category of corporate membership was introduced last year in order to offer a small number of companies a wider range of benefits in return for significant financial support for abcd.
Throughout its 30-year history, abcd has welcomed business members from the choral and wider musical world, whose contribution has been vital in making the organisation what it is today. Their support, along with our individual members, makes us a collective voice on choral music issues. abcd offers music organisations the unique opportunity to connect with those who lead singing at all levels and who are often the key decision makers about repertoire, equipment, choir tours and much more.
Hal Leonard Europe is part of Hal Leonard, the world's largest publisher of printed music. It maintains an extensive catalogue of instrumental, educational and choral titles in print and digital editions, and represents publishers including Novello & Company, Chester Music, Walton Music, Durand, Salabert, Ricordi, G. Schirmer, Shawnee Press, E.C. Schirmer, MorningStar Music, Hinshaw Music, Alphonse Leduc and Edition Wilhelm Hansen. It completes the line-up of abcd's Gold Commercial members, joining existing members OUP Music Department and ABRSM.
Welcoming Hal Leonard Europe to the Gold Commercial Membership, abcd's Chair, Leslie East, said "abcd depends on its members' support, whether on an individual or corporate basis, so this major commitment by Hal Leonard Europe is a very significant development for both organisations. This new collaboration will strengthen our ties and enhance our ability to deliver our services to all members and the wider public and educational community."
Hal Leonard's Strategic Partnerships Director, Tom Farncombe, commented: "Choral Music is at the heart of the Hal Leonard catalogue. This new level of partnership with abcd presents a tremendous opportunity to promote our composers and arrangers, and we are very much looking forward to what promises to be an exciting and prosperous collaboration".
