FREELANCE PIANO ACCOMPANIST TRAINEE - JOB SPECIFICATION

CONTRACT: Part-time, 2 hours per week (term-time only) additional hours may become available

RATE OF PAY: £25 per hour

HOURS AND LOCATIONS: Wednesdays 4:00pm - 6:00pm - Coventry City Centre

The rate of pay includes planning and preparation. The Piano Accompanist Trainee is required to be present 15 minutes before and after each session. This includes time to plan and review. Travel expenses are paid in accordance with our policy.

AC Coventry is a vibrant, inner-city community school-based choir, regularly attended by over 70 children. We are looking to appoint a Piano Accompanist Trainee who is enthusiastic, motivated, conscientious, and willing to learn, whilst developing essential skills within an experienced team.

This is a development role for someone seeking to enter the profession.

The chosen candidate may be looking to gain experience prior to deciding a future career path. They will be passionate about music and flexible in their approach, whilst looking to inspire and develop the talents of young singers.

The successful candidate will accompany in a range of styles/genres including classical, folk, musical theatre, pop and rock. They need to demonstrate excellent sight-reading skills, an ability to harmonise and be well prepared in advance of each rehearsal/performance.

There may be opportunities to work in other areas of Armonico's work,

including our ground-breaking Choir Creation scheme and outreach programme. Playing piano to Diploma standard is essential.
