We are a non-auditioned SATB choir based in Gravesend, Kent and are seeking an enthusiastic MD with effect from 1 September 2024. This is a remunerated position.

Our new MD will be someone who

• is an experienced choral conductor
• has a clear understanding of vocal technique (particularly with regard to the more mature voice)
• has good communication skills
• is able to challenge the choir with new ideas and repertoire
• has some experience of conducting an orchestra and working with soloists
• is keen to work in a collaborative manner with the choir and committee
• is able to develop the less experienced while also engaging the more accomplished
• has a sense of humour!
• is keen to help encourage the recruitment of new members and has ideas relating to this
• ideally has contacts with other professional musicians
