The Cotswold Male Voice Choir is seeking to appoint an experienced pianist. We are an amateur choir of over 50 TTBB voices and has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality entertainment for its audiences. CMVC is planning to arrange a sequence of practical trial rehearsal sessions for those interested.

In addition to a technical ability to accompany a male voice choir, it is vitally important for the person to develop and maintain a strong and close working relationship with the Music Director, and become an integral part of the CMVC.

Ideally our new accompanist should have experience of most of the following:

• Grade 8 piano qualification
• sound sight reading skills with an ability to improvise, including for warm-up, cool-down, and scales-based exercises
• experience of providing accompaniments to musicians and singers
• play a wide variety of music genres
• available to accompany the choir at performances on our Yamaha electric piano and weekly rehearsals on Wednesday evenings in Cheltenham, on the Steinway piano, apart from planned or unavoidable absences
• transposing skills.

We are a registered charity, relying upon member's subscriptions / donations and income from performances to fund our activities; including paying our music team fees, commensurate with experience and market rates.
