The City of Newcastle Male Voice Choir is looking for a Musical Director designate to follow our current MD, Alan Clark who will be standing down. The MD designate would shadow Alan for a time to be decided and would be preferably experienced in directing a choir, work with 40+ enthusiastic and friendly men to continue to develop and improve their performances. Our MD designate would be passionate with a talent for inspiring our singers. They would need to have a great sense of dedication and humour and be able to lead, motivate, and elevate our performances.

They would conduct weekly rehearsals at St Mary’s School , Longbenton on Wednesday evenings between 7pm and 9pm, lead performances around the north east, select diverse and engaging repertoire and foster a positive, inclusive environment for all choir members

You would need a strong musical background with choral conducting experience, have excellent communication and leadership skills and an ability to inspire and develop singers of varied abilities.
