Ellesmere Port Music Society is looking for a Musical Director who will inspire and motivate the choir. We offer competitive remuneration rates for rehearsals and concerts and there is the potential for additional income with occasional 'come and sing ' days.

We rehearse on Monday evenings from 7pm until 9pm for between 26 – 29 weeks each year from September until the end of April.

We are a non-auditioned choir with considerable experience and we enjoy singing central ‘classical’ repertoire.  EPMS currently performs 2 concerts each year: one in December and the second in the spring.

The Music Director will be responsible for:

• Planning and leading weekly rehearsals which improve our vocal skills, enhance the sense of ensemble and convey a love of singing.
• Working hand in hand with the choir and committee to select repertoire which will appeal to both choir and audiences.

Candidates should be able to demonstrate

• Some experience in conducting amateur vocal groups
• Strong musical skills, including some knowledge of vocal technique
• Excellent interpersonal skills to engage all members of the choir
• A commitment to inclusivity within the choir
