Choral Scholarships 2026/27

Voice Parts: Alto, Bass  Stipend: £1,800 per annum + additional opportunities Commitment: Weekly Tuesday evening rehearsal, 4 major concerts per year including  a Christmas concert

Fulham Camerata is seeking applications for our Choral Scholarship Scheme for the upcoming academic year. Located in the heart of Fulham, London, we are an ambitious, friendly chamber choir known for our diverse repertoire and high musical standards. These scholarships are ideal for university students, recent graduates, or early-career singers looking to build their portfolios.

What we offer

While the stipend supports your living expenses, we believe in investing heavily in your musical growth. Our scholars receive:

• Financial support: A core stipend of £1,800 paid in 3 termly instalments.
• Leadership development: Taking choir warm-ups and occasional sectionals (at the discretion of the MD).
• Solo opportunities/extra earning potential: Opportunities to step out of the choir and perform major solo movements in concerts (at the discretion of the MD).
• Professional networking: Sing alongside experienced professionals and build connections within the London music scene.

What we expect from you

• Attendance at weekly Tuesday rehearsals between 7.30pm -9.30pm during term time, providing confident vocal and musical support to the singers in your section (absences permitted if prior warning is given and at the discretion of the Chair and Musical Director). Strong sight -reading is essential.

• Mandatory attendance at the four main concerts over the year
• Reliability, punctuality, and a collaborative team attitude; willingness to participate in the social life of the choir.
• Supporting the choir social media and marketing team for socials and website.

 Audition information

Auditions will take place on Saturday 20^th June in Fulham (Ashington Road, SW6 3QJ). The audition will last about 20 minutes and will consist of:

1. A prepared piece: One short solo song or aria of your choice that best showcases your voice (an accompanist will be provided).
2. A short section from a piece chosen by the MD and sent to you 
3. Sight-reading: A short piece of choral music (provided on the day).
4. Aural/vocal exercises: A few simple scales and ear tests to check your range and pitching.
