Young Conductors wishing to apply for either of our bursary schemes have a little longer to make their application. The new deadline is 29th July.
Two bursaries schemes are available for our Young Conductor course at Convention.
Our Young Conductor bursaries are funded by the Harold Hyam Wingate Trust, and reduce the cost of attending the Young Conductor Course to just £100 (including standard accommodation).
A new bursary, The Oxford University Press Andrew Potter Bursary, has been inaugurated this year by Oxford University Press in memory of Andrew Potter who died in February 2016. Andrew was formerly Director of Music Publishing at OUP and one of the founding members and Trustees of abcd.
The bursary will be awarded each year by abcd to a young conductor between the ages of 18 and 27. It will be used to support the selected conductor attending the Young Conductors' Course and the Pre-Convention Conducting Course alongside the main Annual Convention. The value of the bursary is £500.
