Artistic Director: Edinburgh University Chamber Choir

Edinburgh University Chamber Choir (founded in 1965) is seeking to appoint a new Artistic Director to begin in January 2025.

We are a leading student choir, with just 30 auditioned singers from a range of faculties. We rehearse in a hard-working but friendly atmosphere, always aiming to maintain exceptional performance standards. We present diverse and challenging programmes, exploring both the sacred and the secular in our semesterly concerts and annual tour. Alongside these, we work to actively engage with the wider community, with other performance opportunities over the course of the year.

Further information about the choir, including examples of past performance, can be found on the choir's Instagram and YouTube.

The role of the Artistic Director involves leading weekly rehearsals (Wednesdays 18:15-20:45) as well as all concerts, events and the annual international tour. They will collaborate with the committee in the programming and promotion of concerts in order to pursue a shared vision of the choir.

Successful applicants will be invited for an interview and audition. The interviewing panel will consist of the The Conductor Emeritus, Eric von Ibler, the President of the EUCC, Hannah Grendon, and the Secretary and Treasurer of the EUCC.

Remuneration will be discussed in the context of travel expenses incurred but will be in the region of £70 per rehearsal, £130 per concert and £100 per day whilst on tour.

To apply, please submit a CV and a covering letter to Hannah Grendon at eduniversitychamberchoir@gmail.com before 5pm on Monday 28th October 2024. Please direct any enquiries to the same address.

Closing date: Mon 28 Oct 2024
