Vacancy for the Music Director of The Welsh Camerata Choir from September 2024

Welsh Camerata is a group of 25 to 30 singers based in Cardiff. The choir's primary focus is on early music, mostly performed a cappella. The choir rehearses in the Canton area of Cardiff on a Tuesday evening and performs three programmes a year in Cardiff. In addition the choir undertakes occasional additional engagements including services, recordings and weddings.

Candidates need to have:

• Passion for and knowledge of early music from medieval to baroque
• Demonstrable experience of conducting choral groups
• Ability to lead and inspire, with an engaging personality
• Ability to work with the choir to programme imaginative and attractive concerts
• Organisational and practical planning skills
• Keyboard skills to work with the choir in rehearsals
