Claremont Project is a charity, arts and wellbeing centre for older adults (aged 55+) in Angel, Islington, London. We offer a wide range of weekly classes, projects and special events aimed at being health in mind, body and spirit. Our activity is often in partnership with some of London's leading arts and cultural organisations such as the Royal College of Music, London Symphony Orchestra, Old Vic Theatre, Sadlers Wells and The British Museum. We also operate a Social Prescribing service and a low-cost Psychotherapy service for Islington Residents.

We are seeking an energetic, experienced, and talented Musical Director, Choir Leader and Accompanist to take on the leadership of our popular Gospel Choir and re-establish our longest-standing choir, the Claremont Singers.

The successful candidate will lead these groups through inspiring, engaging and accessible weekly sessions and seasonal performances, encompassing a wide-ranging repertoire of classic songs, jazz standards, modern pop songs from throughout the decades, classic and modern gospel songs and 'gospel-style' arrangements of songs from different genres.

Warm, welcoming, and encouraging, you will be experienced and adept at working with often under-served community groups with varying needs. A good understanding of safeguarding adults is required, and experience of working with vulnerable adults would be beneficial.
