Location: Salford Cathedral, with travel across the Diocese
Contract: 12-month fixed-term
Hours: 14 hours per week, term time (flexible, including evenings/weekends)
Salary: £27,150 FTE (pro-rata) + pension
Actual salary: £9,523.13

The Diocese of Salford is seeking a passionate and talented Choral Director to join our vibrant music team and help deliver the successful Salford Schools Singing Programme (SSP) – part of the nationally recognised initiative supported by the Vinehill Trust.

About the Role
You’ll lead inspiring whole-class singing sessions in primary schools across the Diocese, helping children discover the joy of singing and supporting collective worship. Engaging with over 1,850 pupils each week, you’ll also help develop after-school choirs, build parish links, and offer CPD to support teachers in delivering classroom singing.

We’re Looking For Someone Who:

• Has experience teaching  choral singing to children
• Can lead a wide range of repertoire
• Communicates well with school staff, pupils, and parents
• Is highly organised, flexible, and enthusiastic
• Holds a full UK driving licence/ is able to travel independently across the Diocese
• Is happy to work within the values ethos of the Catholic Church
• Understands safeguarding and is comfortable with an Enhanced DBS / Barred list check
