Musical Director: Caritas Harmony Ladies Choir
Caritas Harmony Ladies Choir, an established and award‑winning SSAA choir based in Stopsley, Bedfordshire, is seeking a new Musical Director from September 2026, following the departure of our current MD, Cassandra White.
Founded in 2003, the choir is known for high‑quality performances, a warm and supportive community, and a strong commitment to charitable fundraising. Our repertoire ranges from Mendelssohn to McCartney, and we perform an eclectic mix of music throughout the year in support of local and national charities.
The Role
The Musical Director will lead and conduct weekly Monday evening rehearsals, preparing the choir for concerts, competitions and community events. The role includes shaping the artistic direction of the choir, developing a varied repertoire across classical, contemporary and popular styles, and working collaboratively with our accompanist and committee to support the choir’s ongoing development.
About You
The successful candidate will be a skilled, confident and engaging conductor, with excellent vocal and musical knowledge, good communication skills and a sense of fun. They will have the ability to teach, motivate and get the best out of a choir comprising people of different ages and abilities.

The selection process will include both an interview and rehearsal demonstration during the normal choir sessions, and a probationary period will be agreed.
